Post 6 Hero

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/ab/Hunger_games.jpg/200px-Hunger_games.jpghttp

I am currently reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and I believe that the main character Katniss is the hero. I believe that Katniss is the hero of this book because she is family oriented, she endures hardship and separation and possible she self-sacrifices herself. In this story North America is split up into  twelve Districts that are run by a place called the Capitol, and every year the Capitol holds an event called The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games are a type of games where a boy and a girl between the ages 12 and 18 are selected to go into an arena and fight to the death. When they pick the people to compete in the Hunger Games Katniss' little sister is picked to compete, but Katniss volunteers herself to compete instead of her little sister.Katniss is family oriented because she volunteers herself to compete instead of her sister because Katniss cares for her little sister and her sister wouldn't stand a chance against the other competitors.Katniss endures hardship and separation because she volunteers for the Hunger Games and there is a possibility that she will die in the arena and never see any of her family or friends ever again the last time that she see's her family and friends is when she is about to board the train to go to the Capitol. It may also be the last time her family see's her in person. There is a possibility that Katniss self sacrifice's herself because she volunteers to compete instead of her sister she is almost self sacrificing herself. She is going into the arena just so she can fight to stay alive and there is a possibility that she will die. Since Katniss volunteers for the games she is almost self sacrificing herself she has to fight to stay alive. " I don't need to shove through the crowd. The other kids make way immediately allowing me a straight path to the stage. I reach her just as she is about to mount the steps. With one sweep of my arm, I push her behind me. 'I volunteer!' I gasp. 'I volunteer as tribute!'"

I am sorry I don't have the required information I just can't seem to figure it out.

I choose this picture because shows that a girl is protecting someone she cares about. The girl in the center reminds me of Katniss because she is protecting her little sister and Katniss is going to compete in the Hunger Games instead of her sister.
